Yoga and Pilates. Both the exercises firms up your body but maintain your curves. It's easy on your joints and your body.
References :
I am taking a very effective water aerobics class once a week. The other time I use the bike or treadmill. It is effective because u are exercising and toning muscles u never knew u had. Try and use the treadmill for at least 45 mins before swimming, this way when u jump in the pool it will seem as if it was a reward for getting to ur 45 mins. Also in the pool u can do all ur stretching and it doesn't feel like u are, It is very relaxing too.

Try it 3-5 times a week and don't just weigh urself, take measurements too. Some weeks u will lose inches too. Keep all of it in a journal and only weigh and measure once a week. U will be surprised at the results u get. It may work for u. that is what i do and so far so good. I have lost 13 lbs and 4 inches of my waist in just 3 weeks. Also eating right and trying to go to the gym everyday if only to get in the pool and do a couple laps...

Good luck to you. I know you'll succeed if u want it bad enough...♥
References :
My own experience with weight loss

swimming does a little bit of everything. its a cardio and helps with your stamina. it also works alot of your muscles. it wont make you buff, but it will tone your muscles whichs gives you that nice cut body. i would suggest go for a about 30 mins. once a day about 5 times a week, off and on. then within a couple weeks you will see the results.
References :
CURVES!! Its amazing and not just for really big girls either. Its a womens only facility and fairly cheap. It does NOT give you noticalbe muscles...just tones and shapes your body. You lose body fat. The machines they have are sooo easy to use there is 75 year old women workin out on them and its only a 30 min workout for 3 times a week. The machines are hydrolic is why its so easy.

PS I like my curves too...thats why I love this place sooo much. I hope you have one in your area to try. I think you can get a 2 week free trial.
References :
Some pools have exercise classes in the water. I've heard it is very effective. It takes pressure of your leg joints.
References :
Windsor palates. It doesn't make you ripped. And it wont make you toned if you do it twice a week.

Speaking as the husband of a woman matching that description I would say a day at a spa. She already has to focus on a chronic illness a gift would be something that takes away the stress. if money isn't the object give her the spa day in Palm springs or if you got bank round trip and hotel St. Kitts. Now that's a spa day!
