My dad is strict about diet, but i come from a cheeky family hahah. Im not fat, but not skinny. Im fit and run daily, but have no 6 pack, only the form of it, and have a bit of a lot of muscle. Im doing soccer but need to be better fit. Also i get asthma when i run alot which is bad for soccer. How to get better on all of this?
First of all…just because you don’t have a six pack does not mean you are not fit. As for how to get a six pack:
First you need to understand that you need to burn the fat over your abdominal muscles to see your hard abs (or six pack) when you get them. After that it depends on exactly what you’re eating (you should try to eat mostly lean protein and veggies if you’re trying to tone up) and how often (you should try to eat ~5-6 times/day to speed up your metabolism. Now to answer your question:
To get abs you need a proper balance of good eating, resistance and cardio excercise, and sometimes supplements. You need to add resistance excercise as that is the best way to reduce fat (muscle burns fat/calories) and change body shape.
Different people hold fat in different places and that last little bit of fat is usually the hardest to lose. There isn’t any definitive way to ’spot’ reduce body fat but here are some things I have found useful (to get a lean flat stomach and get ‘abs’):
- Do sprint repeats. It is warm enough to do these outside so that’s good (during the cold months find an indoor track). Jog to warm up (~1/2 mile). Then do 8 sets of repeat sprints (start with ~100m and gradually move up to ~200m as you get in better shape). Basically you sprint all out, then slow jog (really slow) back. Repeat 8 times. The first one you want to go only ~3/4 speed since your body will still be warming up. Make sure you stretch afterwards as your hamstrings will be sore the next day (especially after the first time).
- Resistance training: go for more reps (less weight), try drop sets, try circuit training. All of these are useful for getting more lean(and as a result will burn fat off your abs). Remember the more muscle you build, the more fat you’ll burn (and you won’t be big and bulky either).
- Ab ball: do a lot of exercises using one of those ab balls…they work your core in every exercise. You can also do actual ab target exercises (twists, crunches, etc.). Get a trainer at your gym to show you some. Or you can get the CoreSecrets (ball/video) for ~$10-$20 online (just google it)
- Oblique exercises (twisting). Do a lot of these using the ab ball: sit on the ball hold a 10 lb weight and walk your feet forward. ‘Lay down’ and with the weigh above you twist to one side-up-pause-twist to the other side. Ensure you’re using your obliques to do the work.
- Lower abs. Do leg lifts (hold weights in your feet, or lay on ball and do them). Leg raises (where you hang in the air and rotate your knees to your chest). Get with a trainer at a gym to show you some new funky ab exercises
- Improve your nutrition to mostly eat low fat protein (chicken, fish, lean turkey, etc.) and veggies (i.e. broccoli). Mix a little fruit in there for some sweetness. You can also buy whey protein and make whey protein smoothies (2 scoops protein, ice, skim milk – blend – little peanut butter, ripe banana, more ice – blend again: tastes great). Cut out junk food (especially soda, anything loaded with high fructose corn syrup, all sweets, etc.)
- Start taking a thermogenic fat burner (will burn fat faster when your body temp rises – i.e. working out), ripped fuel, or hydroxycut hardcore before your workouts. This will help provide energy for workouts during your cutting ‘diet’. These also help you burn fat and are ‘good’ supplements to use
Work hard, have fun…you should have those nice abs in ~2 months.

i weigh about 113 114 in there. and im around 5′4
i have a little bit of a fat pouch on my stomach. and my butt isnt muscle and i want it to be. and my hips are kinda big how can i make them smaller as well? thanks step by step please
A lot of depends on your age, but with dedication you can see some results through exercise and eating properly. Walking will do wonders for your whole body. Try 30 minutes a day. Pilates is also very good. A personal trainer would also be able to evaluate your body structure and give you a nutritional plan as well as exercises that concentrate on specific areas.

Canadians don’t care when we get American change. We just use it like regular change.
So why do Americans throw such a whiny little temper tantrum when they get Canadian change?!
The exchange rate is different, so it’s value is different; some places will not accept it for payment in lieu of US currency; & it does not work in change machines, vending machines or any other machine in the US where you use US coins.

So I recently finished high school, graduated nearly a month and a few days ago. I am 17.
In the 9th grade I was fat and nearly obese, I had a 29 percent BMI. Over the years my BMI ended up getting cut down, instead of 29 percent it is now at 23 percent. I spent my summers working out and trying to burn off the fat and I mean it has worked out but I am a bit hopeless. I still have a minor potbelly, not too big but big enough to get noticed and I have man boobs.
Thing is I have been working out daily, twice a day. I have been trying to eat fit but then again I come from an Indian family so I have to eat my mom’s cooking at times and don’t know if Indian food is healthy.
I work out twice a day, running and basketball in the morning, 30 minutes each. I also work out in the afternoon, flat bench press and running.
Thing is this though, I have lost weight and become slimmer but my body is in no way a beach body. I just don’t even know if it is possible for me to get one.
10th grade I was 5"8 and 210 lbs.
11th grade I was 5"10 and 201 lbs.
12th grade I was 5"11 and 191 lbs.
Right now I am 5"11 and 183 lbs.
Any help guys?
You are young – sounds like what you’re doing is good.
Are you running steadily or interval? I am new to this myself, but have recently read that if you do interval running (or sprinting), that can actually help even more with calorie burn/weight loss. I just started this myself last week, and for the first time EVER lost 3 pounds last week – never before have I lost more than 1-1.5 in a week, and I doubled that this week – and I attribute it to the interval sprinting. I am on the treadmill no more than 30 or so minutes, but I warm up 3 minutes, then I do a total of (10) 30 second sprints – for me that is 7-8mph, and up to 8.2mph at this point – your speed could be different, as I am short (5′1), and a little older (39) than you, and a woman.
I also purchased "Last Chance Workout" with Jillian Micheals (from Biggest Loser), and the first section of the workout is 35 minutes from start to finish, and it is done in basically 30-second intervals varying between weights and cardio – called HIIT (high intensity interval training) – so I have been combining those two workouts for about an hour a day total (working out HARD), and I have REALLY noticed results this week – totally awesome – you might try varying it up a bit
Best of luck – I’m after a beach body too (before I turn 40…LOL)
I got the treadmill interval scenario from Dr. Mercola (www.mercola.com)
Oh, another couple of workouts that I may need to try to up the ante on my results are P90 (the original P90), or even perhaps Insanity (www.getinsanity.com) – I haven’t tried either of these yet, but may need to within a couple/few months to keep my results going -

Today is the 2nd day of the raw food diet jumpstart. You can join us at anytime during the jumpstart week and start vlogging as well. No rules. Just watch and post a video response to this video in the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un0vemuFBds .
For breakfast I ate watermelon and sunflower seeds and a couple of flax / brown rice crackers. Lunch I had a blueberry, strawberry, spring mix greens smoothie. For dinner I had the rest of my cucumber salad.
The raw food diet went well for me today and I feel great.
If you are just starting your raw food diet journey please let us know in the comments even if you are not in the challenge.

I wondered if anyone has ever tried to fit their own fitted kitchen? Is it something my partner and i could manage (except for electrics and gas which we’d get professonals in for)? Homebase wanted to charge £2500 for a tiny kitchen, so we’re contemplating taking it into our own hands! any thoughts? similar experience?
I have nearly finished our kitchen. I am handy and have plenty of tools. I got the units from Band Q who were pretty good and took back stuff that was over with no grumbles. The tops are pretty hard to fit if you want a really pukka job and so I got somone in and he did it well but taking the stuff out the boxes and putting it together is easy and not somethng you should be paying somone to do. Have a go – it seems impossible but once you get into it its like a jigsaw.

Ohkay.I have abs, and toned thighs, lol but i can’t look great because, i hav love handles, and huge calves. are there any excersises to help me lose the love handles and slim down my calves?btw. im a girl. and I am not fat.
its going to be hard to reduce your calf size especially if you are not fat. i know girls who are really petite but they just have big calves. the love handle is much easier. just do a lot of cardio and eat healthy. just make sure you burn more calories then you take in and you will see results.

Like Scarlett Johansen or Megan Fox? Any specific workouts to enhance the butt, hips, and the other areas that attribute to a slim, but hourglass figure?
hourglass figure is a body type, everyone has different body types, however if you have an hourglass figure than you just have to work out to tone yourself. I dont know how serious you are about taking care of yourself but if you want to learn about real eating to be healthy and slimming down than i suggest you learn about "food combining". Take a look at the resources: again im not sure how serious you are about wanting to look great, there are so many immature people that want a quick route to looking "good" but they are physically weak and inside and out. To be healthy you gotta work ur butt off and learn!!! do research, and make choices in your life that dont just last a few weeks for the beach, make them a lifestyle to look and feel great all the time.
good luck
